Clarification Regarding the Memory Game

Some people have written me asking about the error message they get when they don’t choose the correct number of buttons/cards. Allow me to clarify.

The current error message (from Memory 2.1) states: “Please choose an even number of languages that can be divided evenly from the number of buttons!” This means that there are 2 conditions to satisfy:
1. The number of languages has to be even.
2. The number of buttons/cards has to divide by the number of languages evenly (i.e., without a remainder).
The reason for the above is that the languages have to come in pairs. If we allowed for just any language combination, we would inevitably end up with a board that has words that don’t match up with anything else (thus creating a game that is unwinnable).

For simplicity’s sake, I am providing a list of the possible number of languages per buttons/cards:
10 buttons/cards: 2 or 10 languages
20 buttons/cards: 2, 4, or 10 languages
30 buttons/cards: 2, 6, or 10 languages
40 buttons/cards: 2, 4, 8, or 10 languages
50 buttons/cards: 2 or 10 languages

In the next update, I will create an error message that also gives an simple example of what’s needed.
